About Jo Anne

My passion for the performing arts began at a young age when I was involved in the local drama scene both at school and in amateur dramatics taking roles in various productions of pantomimes, musicals and plays.

After a five-year career in the Civil Service, I enrolled as a mature student to follow my dreams and train in the performing arts on a BA (Hons) course, graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 1998.

Having worked at the local theatre during my training. I was then employed by a theatrical agency before working professionally as both an actor and singer appearing in theatre, television, film and commercials for seven years.

In 2007 I trained as a Speech, Drama and LAMDA teacher. Since then I  have taught in both state and private schools as well as teaching private pupils across Surrey and Berkshire.

My pupils have achieved a 100% Pass Rate since 2009 in Acting, Devising, Introductory Poetry, Reading for Performance, Public Speaking and Speaking of Verse and Prose.

I am passionate about teaching the next generation of actors, performers and professionals and passing on my knowledge, love and experience of the Arts.
